Group Workshop for Retreats
Ancestral Wisdom of Time
and the Tzolkin

Reconnecting with the Ancestral Language of Time 🌟

Sellos Tzolkin_edited.jpg

This workshop is an experience of reconnection with sacred time, an invitation to remember the ancestral wisdom that different civilizations used to understand life, cycles, and the purpose of the soul.

During the gathering, we explore how ancient cultures understood time not as a linear resource that runs out, but as a living, conscious, and cyclical movement, intimately connected to nature, the body, and the spirit.

What does the workshop consist of?

Throughout the workshop, participants receive a clear and accessible introduction to the ancestral wisdom of time, exploring the main calendars used by Mesoamerican civilizations and understanding their spiritual, agricultural, and ceremonial functions.

During the workshop, the following topics are explained:

  • What a sacred calendar is and why it was fundamental in ancestral life

  • The difference between natural time and modern artificial time

  • The different calendars that were used, and the special place the Tzolkin holds as an energetic map of the human being

  • Synchronies and energetic compatibility between people according to the Tzolkin

  • The difference between life purpose and life mission

  • The Sacred Cross of the Tzolkin, and how to understand the five energies that make up the oracle

Personal Kin Delivery

Each participant receives their personal Kin printed, accompanied by a clear and loving explanation of:

  • Their natal energy

  • Their gifts, challenges, and learnings

  • How their Kin manifests in everyday life

  • The interpretation of their Life Mission and Life Purpose according to the Tzolkin

  • The meaning of their Seal and Tone within the Tzolkin

This moment is often one of the most meaningful parts of the workshop, as it allows participants to recognize, understand, and validate themselves through an ancestral lens.

What is the Tzolkin?

The Tzolkin is the “calendar” known as the Mayan Sacred or Spiritual Count, used as a tool to understand and harmonize the energies that influence our daily lives. This calendar consists of 260 days, formed by the combination of 20 signs (or seals) and 13 numbers (or tones). Each day within the Tzolkin carries a unique energy, represented by a specific seal and tone.

It is important to clarify that the Tzolkin, as it is used today, is a system based on the Mayan calendar, but it is not an exact reproduction of its original ancestral use. Rather, it is a contemporary interpretation and update of the ancient system.

During the 1980s, researcher José Argüelles identified that ancient Mesoamerican cultures used more than 17 different calendrical counts, and that there was also symbolic and structural information in other world traditions that could complement and expand the understanding of the Mayan sacred count, such as the I Ching and the Runes. Through this integration, a unified system emerged.

From this synthesis, a reading of the Tzolkin oriented toward consciousness, natural time, and human spiritual development was formed.

Thus, the Tzolkin functions as an energetic guide that allows you to know yourself more deeply and live in harmony with the universe. Each person has a birth Kin—a unique combination of a seal and a tone—which describes their qualities, challenges, and spiritual gifts.

Today, the Tzolkin is used in spiritual readings and therapeutic practices to help people connect with their essence and find direction and meaning in their lives. Likewise, since it allows for understanding the energy generated when two or more people come together, the Tzolkin is also used for relationship and couple readings, including as preparation prior to marriage. These readings offer clarity not only about each person’s individual life purpose, but also about the spiritual reason their paths are united.

Many people find in the Tzolkin a clear and conscious guide for decision-making, self-understanding, and learning how to work more harmoniously with their emotions, relationships, and connections.
